Come and learn the art of wax carving for jewellery to create your own silver ring ~ !
Amongst the clouds and lush hanging greenery, we invite you to design, file, carve, and polish a celestial piece for yourself or someone x-tra special.
This workshop runs as two sessions on the above dates of your choosing
Session One ~ 12pm to 4pm (wax carving)
Session Two ~ 12pm to 4pm (silver ring polishing)
Session One: Introduction to safety, tools, techniques, and lost-wax casting methods; designing and planning your piece, working with jewellers wax to realise your design by sawing, sizing, filing and carving; wax to metal weight conversions, and finishing your wax model ready for casting into solid silver.
Session Two: Removing the sprue, filing, polishing, oxidising and finishing your piece in solid sterling silver for it to be ready-to-wear and take home with you.
All tools are provided for the duration of the course, alongside aprons and any safety gear. You will also receive a beautiful handmade booklet to take home with info on wax carving, casting, tools, and a list of suppliers.
The costs of casting and weight of silver are included in the price of the course.
Please bring a notebook with your ideas for all the lush designs you have in mind....
